be aware that the very old RHEL 5.3 is 8 minor versions and 4 YEARS out of date
also as is standard with redhat the major versions of software was LOCKED before 5.0 was released in early 2007

Quote:
iam not able to install using yum command
that will be a problem

the current firefox for RHEL 5.11/CentOS 5.11 (NOT 5.3) is "firefox-38.1.0-1.el5"
the VERY LAST update for 5.3 had "firefox-3.0.6-1.el5"

you can ? try ? the prebuilt firefox from the mozilla site ?
but do not expect it to work

now seeing as this IS!!! a redhat install
you DO have the REQUIRED support contract that you BOUGHT

This would be a good time to use it. You did ,after all did pay for the support .

if this is indeed 5.3
it is advised that you UPGRADE to the current RHEL 5.11

the redhat tech support can walk you through that .

"file corrupted " is of zero use
please post THE ERROR

also "text speak" is disliked around here
this forum is NOT!!!! A SMS TEXT MESSAGE!!!!!

you were NEVER!!!! taught in SCHOOL!!! to spell
Please as "pls"
nor
you as "u"

you learned that in KINDERGARTEN!!!!!!!
and if in the FIRST GRADE you spelled - you as U - you would have gotten a SAD FACE and NO GOLD STAR!!!

please post the output of this
Code:
su -
yum repolist all
and also post the output of this command
Code:
su -
cat /etc/redhat-release
