Resolution set to 640x480.

I have Fedora 10 installed on my desktop (motherboard Intel dg965ry, NVIDIA 7300 GS 512MB graphics card, Intel Core 2 duo processor, 2GB of RAM and a ViewSonic monitor with max resolution of 1440x900). I had to create a new bootloader configuration after installing another OS. Now every time my Fedora boots it does not show the graphical boot up as it used to and moreover it sets the maximum resolution to 640x480 sometimes and becomes normal (1440x900) after some restarts. I have the latest NVIDIA driver installed. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem.

I would manually alter the xorg config so it does not probe the monitor for settings (Override DDC) and then use a Modeline to specify the desired resolution and refresh rates.

check this thread for links to the mentioned info..

I used http://xtiming.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/xtiming.pl to get my Modeline.
Modeline "1440x900@70" 133.08 1440 1472 1976 2008 900 918 928 946

I am a newbie. Now How do I use this in xorg.conf to configure my display?

Then you will have to create it..

Code:
X -configure
mv ~/xorg.conf.new /etc/X11/xorg.conf
