Welcome to LQ!!

What distribution (version) of Linux are you using?

What is the video card? (Google tells me Nvidia Geoforce)

Can you open /etc/X11/xorg.conf and see what driver is being used for the video card? Look for an entry similar to this:
Code:
Section "Device"
  Identifier "Card1"
  Driver "xxxxxxxxx"
  BoardName "xxxxxxxxx"
EndSection
