resizing linux partitiongs and backing up

hi i am running mandrake 9.1 and gave myself a swap partition of 500 mg and would like to increase the size i was wondering if was safe to use partition magic to increase the size of my linux partitions or if mandrake has a package to do this more safely.

im guessing the answers may vary as it is a matter of opinion but i have my system setup nice now and would like to be sure. BTW does anyone use symantec ghost to backup linux have they had good or bad results?

thanx in advanced:newbie:

I'd rather use Mandrake tools, especially if you're using Ext3 (there were problems reported with Ext3+partition Magic). I've never hda a single progblem with the MDK partitioning tools. As resizing may be dangerous, think twice before clicking. Then it'll be OK.

It should be really safe. The only problem if in the Windows partition you'd like to add spece to. If it's NTFS, Mandrake tools won't work. FAT (16, 32) works nicely.
