reset resolution

I installed Fedora Core 3 just fine on my computer
but I used My monitor...it goes up to a resolution of 1280 X 1024

now I took my computer and hooked it to my friends monitor
(I have no access to my monitor right now)

when I turn Fedora on my monitor kicks off and says it can't support the video mode

The computer continues to run but I have no clue how to change the resolution back down blindly

Can anyone give me a suggestion
