Replacing Linux from Dualboot

Hey all,

I've had a DualBoot going with Win2k/Mandrake 9.1 for a while now. I was wondering how "easy" it would be for me to remove Mandrake 9.1 and replace it with another verison of Linux (I was thinking Slackware). I have 2 drives in the computer, one is completely Win2k and the other is Mandrake. Would I be able to format the one with Mandrake, remove the bootloader, and just boot up an install CD for Slackware? Is it going to be that easy, or am I being unrealistic?

Thanks

It's actually easier.
Slack will format your drive for you, no need to format ahead of time.
Just be carefull to format the right drive during the Slack install and make
sure to add your win2k during the lilo config.

And of course - DO A BACK-UP - before you start!

So all I would have to do is boot from the Slackware CD, format the correct drive and I should be fine? Would I need to do anything about the bootloader? Or does Slack overwrite that as well?

edit: My status just changed from Newbie to Member, I'm so happy!

slack will ask you if you want to install LILO, which will overwrite the bootloader for you...

*edit: congrats on your member status!

alright, I'm downloading the ISOs for Slackware 10.0. Its going kinda slow, so I'll let it download over night. I'll try replacing Mandrake tomorrow.
