Replacement for 'top'

Hi,

I am looking for a replacement to 'top' when using the command line interface on fedora core 3. Does anyone know anything else that can give processor usage stats for resources and also memory usage?

Regards,

Dan

KDE System Guard and Gnome System Monitor are just two. Both were installed with MDK 10.1 by default.

Are you looking for something like these?
Htop
Qps
nmon

Do you need an alternative to top for the terminal or you need a GUI?

You're welcome and I also forgot to welcome you to Linuxquestions.

What I personally like at Htop is that you can scroll the list vertically, horizontally and use the mouse.

Cheers, Boby!

Hi again :-)

Well I now have htop setup on both linux boxes I admin.

I have two java processes running on each box and they are of very similar specs.
On one these seem to use between 50% and 80% of the CPU and on the other it doesn't even register.

I thought it may just be top not recording the CPU load but it is happening with htop too.

Can anyone suggest anything that could be causing this. I'm sure it would at least register on the slightly faster box.

Thanks.
