Replace LILO with GRUB
Hello,
I am trying to bring back to life on old system that previously used LILO to boot. The new OS I am installing uses GRUB. After installing the new OS and attempting a boot, all I see are the characters "LI". Using a rescue CD and fdisk, I waxed the /dev/hda drive of all partitions, and then did a re-install of the new OS. The same problem still exists. What else can I do to get GRUB to install properly over the old LILO bootloader? Can I used fdisk to wax the contents of the MBR? If so, how? |
Nevermind, I determined that I was incorrectly referencing grub application from the wrong directory. It is in /usr/sbin, yet my script was referencing /sbin.
