Repartition problem

I am trying to install SUSE 10.0 on my home PC that already has XP. I didnt want to format the drive so I would like SUSE to repartition it for me. But when the install gets to the repartition I get the following error:

Error storage modification failed system error code was: -3023 failure occured during the following action: shrinking partition /dev/sda2 to 49.1 GB.

I have a SATA drive in AHCI mode.

Anyone else ever have this problem? Is there a better repartition tool out there that I could use? I tried to defrag the XP drive to create space for it to repartition it but still receive this error.

Any help appritiated.

thanks

Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director are generally better at dealing with windows partitions but they are not free. Acronis has better support for linux partitions if you are willing to buy a commercial partitioning tool.
On the free side, mandriva has pretty nice partitioning tools in their installation program. You could download thier install cd-1 and run the install up to the partitioning part and see if it works. Better yet, download PCLinixOS:

It's a livecd based on mandriva and has the same partitioning tools.
