Reparing MBR from linux for Windows XP

Hi im a newbie at this, probably because I haven't used linux for a while. Anyways I need to reinstall windows xp for IDE purposes. Seems I can't find a decent WYSIWYG JSP editor (back to Expression Web). I have to repair the MBR because my windows xp CD won't install properly, It gets to:

Setup is detecting your hardware...

Then blacks out.

How do I reset the MBR from linux..

ie. a FDISK /MBR solution from linux. Any ideas??

Ty.

Welcome!
Well MBR is got nothing to do with the cd from which you're trying to install XP.I belive that this is only Windows, nothing else.I had a similar problem once,so what errors have you seen after "detecting your hardware"?
Here's a link; http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_haldll_missing.htm that might be helpful.
