removing an rpm
Hi
Im trying to simply just remove the perl-DBD-MySQL-2.1021-3 rpm so i can install a much newer version from source. I type: rpm --nodeps -e perl-DBD-MySQL-2.1021-3 after this, the system just sits there, for hours if i leave it doing nothing. rpm as a whole seems to be locked up after this, doing rpm -qa just to get a package list freezes, whereas it was working before i tried to do the remove. A reboot seems to eb the only way to free rpm as far as i can see. any ideas? thanks Simon |
just a guess, not sure so don;t take my word for it, I am new at all this. But have you tried turing the MySQL off? or stopping the service before removing it? just a stab in the dark, but wanted to give my idea
