remove login message
hi all,
i installed Slackware 12.1 on my system. after each login i receive a message ( quotes from people ) 1. how do i remove those messages? |
chmod -x /etc/profile.d/bsd-games-login-fortune.sh
Pity you don't like them ;} Cheers, Tink |
i don't mind them, there is just this one that is offensive ( mocking GOD, not very intelligent )
1.2 is there a way to remove only this one or must i remove the lot? |
That'll depend on how the script invokes them. In
my install offensive fortunes shouldn't show up; the line in the script has no modifiers, but only file-names to choose from. If I *want* offensive fortunes I need to specify either -a (all quotes) or -o (only offensive quotes). If you get offensive ones w/o those switches someone seems to think differently about offensive than you do - in that case you should be able to remove those individually; they're stored in plain-text files under /usr/share/games/fortunes Cheers, Tink |
i went to /usr/share/games/fortunes
there i found a file with all of these "quotes" i'm still busy editing it and making it the way i want it :) thanx Tink <- keep well |
