remove just the windows partition?

Hi-

i am hoping someone can help me out. i have a dual boot- dual hard drive set-up w/ Redhat 7.3 and Win XP Pro- i use the GRUB boot loader. Everything works fine, except for windows which i have slowly destroyed over the last month. So, i basically want to delete my windows partition and then re-install XP.

problem is- on past machines- i simply use the Win XP floppy boot disks which allow me to erase the old partition and create a new one- however, GRUB will not let me boot from the Win Xp floppies- i get an I/O error. BTW- the disk is okay- i checked it on my laptop-

the other thing i tried is to boot from the Win XP CD- however, it does not allow me to delete the partition either b/c i am actually using it (the partition i want to delete) when i boot from the CD. that is why i need the floppies instead.

So is there a way I can delete the main windows partition only- and still keep everything else as is. i am guessing that i need to get rid of GRUB first- but i was hoping there might be a way around that. any ideas?

BTW- i am guessing this is really more of a windows question- but when it comes down to it- linux guys tend to know more so i hope someone can help.

Thnx-

Have you tried something like Partition Magic or Ranish Partition Manager (free)?

Come to think about it, can't some Linux tool do what you want?
