remote server traffic downloading

Hello.

I have a remote server that I use to upload data from a local server.

now in a rush, I secured shelled two different sessions and began uploading two large data sets to the remote server.

I realized five minutes later that I would flood the server, and aborted the transfer job.

now I can not connect to the remote server and must restart the connection.

Once fixed, I will just use rsync and not have to worry about manually transfering data, and just do it in real time.

My question is : will this practice crash the server and wipe the data?

this happened once before, and we restarted the connection and it worked fine.

will this practice crash the server - Server may crash if less resource is available and your data transfer is consuming more resource than server has

resource : capacity of cpu,memory,n/w i/o,space on server

wipe the data - It will not, because whether you do copy/rsync your data in source side is already there. In case you are moving(cut & paste) the source data will not be deleted until the move operation is over. It may corrupt the data at the destination if you break the connection.
