Remote Host Identification Has Changed
I have a lot of virtual machines on my network that I keep reloading, and I am running into a problem when I try to ssh to them. I get this error message.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: REMOTE HOST IDENTIFICATION HAS CHANGED! @ @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING NASTY! Someone could be eavesdropping on you right now (man-in-the-middle attack)! It is also possible that the RSA host key has just been changed. The fingerprint for the RSA key sent by the remote host is 22:17:20:7b:3c:5b:f1:9e:a1:6f:91:62:31:74:cc:83. Please contact your system administrator. Add correct host key in /home/username/.ssh/known_hosts to get rid of this message. Offending key in /home/username/.ssh/known_hosts:11 RSA host key for 10.38.19.200 has changed and you have requested strict checking I can edit /home/usernmae/.ssh/known_hosts, but I would rather be able to override this error. Is there something I can add or edit in /etc/ssh/ssh_config to allow me to ignore this or to allow me to just say "yes" change the key? Preferabbly "yes" change the key. Thanks, |
StrictHostKeyChecking - either set it to 'no', or 'ask'
|
This option was set to "ask" I tried setting it to "no" but still no change. Here is what I get when doing ssh -vvv myip

I think changing StrictHostKeyChecking to 'no' would only apply to new instances - not the ones that were already rejected. For those you'd still have to edit known_hosts.
|
Does anybody have any suggesstion for me on this? I am still having the problem. StrictHostKeyChecking does not appear to be the issue here.
Thanks. |
