remote home directories with samba/winbind

Is there a way to set up users' home directories to point to a share on a windows server?

The vast majority of our environment is windows. We have several linux servers that admins have to sign in to periodically. I'm in the process of adding the linux servers to our AD domain so that AD IDs can be used. Ideally, I'd like to point the linux home directories to each user's share on our windows file server.

I'm using RHEL 5 with samba and winbind for authentication.

Is this possible?

I haven't - I didn't know it existed. (I'm definitely a linux newbie) I'll see what I can find on that. Thanks for the lead.

any luck?

HI, I am trying to do something similar, did you have any luck?

I really need to stop users from taking space on my linux cluster so i want their floating network drive to be mounted as the home directory. since the folders are all password protected i cant seem to mount them

I haven't found anything on this. Actually it was a pretty low priority thing and we've moved on to other things. I'm sure there is probably a way to do it, but I never found it. Sorry.
