remaining partition invisible??

I installed mandrake 10.1 on a partition that I had reserved for linux but instead of allocating the full partition which was about 24GB, I chose only 14GB in that partition during installation. Now after the installation I am not able to find the remaining 10GB of space. what are the possible avenues?
can I salvage that 10GB space or do I have to reinstall linux with seperate partitions created for 14GB and 10GB.

thanks,
rick

Do you mean it doesn't come up in Mandrake as an hda or something? If so, you just need to get a partition tool (I love QtParted, comes on a KNoppix CD if ya need it) and it should find that empty 10GB space. Format it as a FAT32 or Ext3 partition, and you should be good to go

Not sure about the tools in mandrake, but in slackware you can use: cfdisk as root.
This should show you every partition data available.
You should see the 10GB of free/available space, and opt to create a partition there.
When you've created it, change the type to ext3 (or whatever you use). ext3 has typenr. 83 in cfdisk on slackware.
Then all you have to do is add it to fstab to mount it at boot-time, or mount it manually using something like:
mount -t ext3 /dev/hdXX /mount-folder
replace the XX with the id from cfdisk (listed under the column: name)
