Relationship of KDE to GNOME ?

Using Mdk 9.0 and KDE my ISP connects with no problem. [I'm using it to post this question] But with GNOME there is a problem.

Using gnome-ppp - It dials out and ppp connects BUT after 15-20 seconds, I get an Error Message.

"pppd daemon died unexpectedly" !!

I assume the ISP settings from KDE do not carry over into GNOME. Where should I be looking for a problem in GNOME set-up ?

As a General Rule: Is there NO transfer of settings between KDE and GNOME or any other GUI ??

Its not a matter of the settings moving from KDE to Gnome, but these are two different programs. Why not just use kppp in Gnome, instead of using two different programs to connect with. kppp should work with no problems in Gnome.

yep, he's right, just run kppp in gnome.

Alternatively, if you're dead set on using gnome-ppp reconfigure it, just like you configured kppp.
