Question Reinstalling Fedora Core 9, without losing my data

hi guys
this might sound like a stupid question.
I had fedora core 5 for a long time and when i updated it to fc9 with the installation dvd, but the OS would just crash all the time.
So want to reinstall the fc9 but i have 200Gb of data that there is noway for me to back up.

how can i reinstall fedora core 9 with out losing my data on the hard drive?
is it even possible?
btw guys teh format of my hard drive is LVM?
Thank you all.

There is no such thing as data that cannot be backed up, although you may have to buy more hardware in order to have a place to put the backup copy. Back up your data and then reinstall Fedora 9.

You may need to mount the drive in another working machine to copy the data off.

Ok,
But can I not resize the partition with my data, so that i have new partition and then format and install fc9
why wouldn't that work?

you would not be sure where the data on your partition is, it can be saved in front or in the end, or somewhere in between. You really should make a backup on a external harddisk, and format completely for the best, and most safe result.
