When I tried to re-install ubuntu I get this message.Any help appreciated.

Archive: /media/Ubuntu 9.10 i386/wubi.exe
[/media/Ubuntu 9.10 i386/wubi.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /media/Ubuntu 9.10 i386/wubi.exe or
/media/Ubuntu 9.10 i386/wubi.exe.zip, and cannot find /media/Ubuntu 9.10 i386/wubi.exe.ZIP, period.

Iused this disc to install everything no problem. Thank you.

Hello,

Are you trying to run wubi.exe from within Ubuntu? Wubi is the Windows installer for Ubuntu if I recall correct. If you just want to do a clean reinstall of Ubuntu why don't you boot from CD and take it from there, following the steps as indicated in the installer.

Or are you trying to reinstall Ubuntu IN Windows with Wubi?

Kind regards,

Eric

hi. I try to install off the cd,using wubi.exe.I have also tried installing it from a usb stick, again using wubi exe. I have no windows left.I took the plunge and did a full install of karmic. I must say, last night, I tried successfully to load fglrx driver, after many failures. The system is running really well, so I might not fiddle with reinstalling for a while. My reason at the time was to start over. I will leave it for a couple of weeks and then have another try. thanks for your help
