Register free domain for DNS testing...?

Hello,

Basically, I have access to two DNS servers (nameservers) and a bunch of testing servers. I want to point domain(s) to the DNS servers, and then use this to create A, PTR, MX records (pointing to testing servers), create vhosts etc. Basically just want to play around with it for learning purposes.

Anyone know any good free domain websites that I can use for this? Thanks.

Sorry, no one is going to give you a free domain.. But you can rent a .com for about 10-20$ a year.. It's worth investing if you want to learn.. Just be sure you have static IPs...

I don't mean free domain as in .com .net etc.... I mean like .co.nr (but this is severely limited, don't think it allows me to add nameservers).

Gotta be some other free one's that are fit for the purpose i need. If I end up buying a tld, then it would cost quite a bit since I want to mess around with vhosts and would like to play around with at least 3-5 domains.

Again, no one's going to give you a free NS redirection... :P But you can search.. or, if you know someone having a .tld.... ask then to give you an NS redirection for a subdomain, so that you can be authoritive for that subdomain..

Don't really know anyone for that.. :(

Would the learning experience be the same if I just brought 1 tdl and then created loads of subdomains with their own zone files?

Actually that would be the best learning experience..
