hello friends,
my name is samala, i would like to know the procedure of how to connect the UNIX system windows systems in an Local Area network and pind them , pls can any one give an clean idea of what the procedure of how to connect them and send data from one systems to other system.

You can:

- Share a folder/drive from the Windows system, and use the smbmount command from Linux to mount it.

- Configure Samba services on the Linux server, and map a network drive to the shared resource(s) from the Windows system.

- Install NFS client on Windows, and NFS mount the exported Linux resources under Windows.


You don't say anything about your environment, what version of Linux you have, or what distribution. Any of the above suggestions would work. Pick one, do some research, and let us know what problems you have, and we can help you.

hello thankq very much for the reply, im working on unix system( sun microsystems made system), my main aim is to connect the systems in an LAN(3 windows systems and unix system) and send date from one system to another in JOONE and JAVA space software.., and thanks for the reply and it will sure help me... and i have come across the samba software in my search and i have downloaded the software... can i know whats the help of it ????.
