RedHat Network and Firewal Question

I'm about as new to Linux as you can get, and so I'm first, really glad this site exists, and 2nd in need of some help!

First question I have is that I had to re-load RH8.0, but since doing that, the Red Hat Network thinks that I already have the latest upgrades (via up2date) and I can't seem to get it to clear out my old profile info. I even deleted the profiles that were there, but it doesn't work..Can someone help me out here?

Second question I have is that I can't seem to be able to change ANY firewall settings at all, whenever I change the settings via the gui it just reverts back to HIGH again. Can someone offer a step by step or easy fix for this?

Thanks for any help you guys can give me..I'm really trying to like this OS!

Welcome to Linux and LQ then, I'd say.
"up2date -p" should refresh your profile with the RHN, tho i'm not sure the RHN system reflects those changes in real time.
For the 2nd one I haven't got a clue because I never use GUI tools for fw settings, I'd rather vi 'em, tho I've seen questions about this on LQ, I'm sure doing a search would yield results.

Thanks

Wow...Thanks for such a quick reply...and thanks for the welcome! I'll give the up2date command a try and see if that helps.

Thanks again!
