Redhat - Mouse fails to load when i configure a second nic
Hi all,
I am brand new to Linux so please forgive my ignorance.
I've installed Redhat 9, all drivers work fine until I add a second
nic (both 3Com), the second card is detected on startup, but after
I give it an ip and restart the machine, eth0 & eth1 loads OK but
mouse fails and I cannot get into x.
Error msgs :
Starting console mouse services
/dev/psaux: device or resource busy
(EE) xf86Openserial: Cannot open device /dev/psaux
device or resource busy
(EE) mouse0: cannot open input device
(EE) PreInit Failed for input device "mouse0"
No core pointer
If you need more info please let me know, I would appreciate any help.
I did try a different ps2 and serial mouse, it did not work for me.
I have another problem, I can only get 1 nic to work at a time,
eth0 works, but eth1 refuses, any ideas ?

You can try to specify irq settings for the other card by adding the option to modprobe or in modules.conf file. To see how to set te irq use modinfo command. Example:
gatekeeper:/home/milanb/bin # modinfo ne
filename: /lib/modules/2.4.21-192-default/kernel/drivers/net/ne.o
description: "NE1000/NE2000 ISA/PnP Ethernet driver"
author: <none>
license: "GPL"
parm: io int array (min = 1, max = 4), description "I/O base address(es),required"
parm: irq int array (min = 1, max = 4), description "IRQ number(s)"
parm: bad int array (min = 1, max = 4), description "Accept card(s) with bad signatures"
