redhat linux installation

I want to install linux in my PC. But, I want to install as minimum as I can, e.g. I do not want any Xserver.

Do you know is it possible?

thanks,

ercan

Yes. When you get to the program selection screen, uncheck everything. There's probably a check for minimal install as well. I can't remember though. It's been quite some time since I've installed Red Hat.

when you get to the above section mentioned, just check the barebones install or minimal install. this will only require CD1 and should not take to long.

with a whitebox barebones install on a AMD800 with 512M pc133 ram it took me roughly 30min.

Yes there is a check box for minimal install at the bottom of the package selection screen.
