redhat kernel 2.4.20-20.9 update


I download the following files to update the redhat kernel

kernel-2.4.20-28.9.i386.rpm
kernel-BOOT-2.4.20-28.9.i386.rpm
kernel-source-2.4.20-28.9.i386.rpm

then i followed in structions like so rpm -Fvh *.rpm but the last time i did this.. i could not boot in to the updated kernel i stil hade my old kernel installed.. does anyone knows why ( Friends dedicated hosting box )

my kernel dir whent from 2.4.20.20.9 to 2.4.20.28.9 but it wont boot what did i do wrong?

Hi!

I would do:

rpm -Uvh instead.

Can you give your /boot/grub/grub.conf here?
