Redhat Installation
Hello, i installed Redhat but i'm not sure as to how to boot it. I have two harddrives:
1) 30gb Quantum | Partitions: 1-fat32 (98 installed) 2-ntfs (xp) 3-ntfs 2) 20gb with redhat installed - a 4 gb boot partition and a 500 mb swap partition I chose not to overwrite the current mbr, set the boot manager (grub) to be on the second harddisk, and chose windows for the default boot session. Now, linux won't boot. I booted with a floppy, but it couldn't find the linux kernel image. The problem is, how do i set the boot managers nt boot man/grub(or lilo) to switch between windows and linux? Can grub/lilo launch the nt boot manager so i can choose between 98 and xp? Can the nt boot manager boot redhat? And i can't just begin from scratch, i have to set it up so that i don't have to reinstall anything. Thanks in advance. |

Hey thanks.
I'll try using Boot Magic. But still, is there's a way to solve this by configuring nt b.m or lilo/grub? |
Are there any other boot managers (free)?
|
Hi again
There are a few boot managers free , but none as easy to use as Partition Magic . |
freebsd's booteasy. its a partition booter.
it has a dos installer called bootinst.exe you could also from linux make a copy of the linux boot record dd if=/dev/hdb1 of=fileofyourchoice bs=512 count=1 and add an entry to the windows nt loader. search for ntldr on this site for specific instructions. |
