RedHat distribution doubts

Hi..everybody,
I just wanted to know that which are the free distributions from RedHat. I saw this link and found the price for even desktop edition.
Should we not use any of the RedHat distributions without paying? and should we pay for even RHEL desktop edition?

CentOS and Scientific Linux are built from RedHat Enterprise Linux source. They do not charge for support or updates, but then again, there is no 'official' support for these distributions.

You must pay for a subscription to use Red Hat. CentOS or Scientific Linux are its free "clones."

There's also Fedora, which is a free of charge Red Hat product. It's got newer software than Red Hat so many users prefer Red Hat for servers and Fedora for desktop/laptop.

There is nothing wrong with you installing and using RHEL w/o a subscription. You just won't get support or updates. If you require updates; use CentOS or Scientific Linux (which are "clones" of RHEL and you'll pretty much not notice a difference).

I recommend using one of the "clones"...in fact; I got my RHCE by practicing on CentOS

You can try connecting to Centos, Scientific or PUIAS Repositories on RHEL for free updates. But I recommend getting a Free RHEL Clone like Centos, Scientific, Fermi or PUIAS.
