RedHat 9 Install problems
I've got a PIII on an Intel SE440BX2 MB with 256M of memory, CD, floppy, and a PNY Vanta Riva TNT2 PCI graphics card. I've been trying to do a clean install, but have the following problem.
The Ananconda install proceeds along nicely, past the initial config, disk partitioning, networking, firewall, and time zone, until it reaches and finishes authentication. Then anaconda says: Install exited abnormally sending termination signals...done sending kill signals...done disabling swap... unmounting file systems... /mnt/runtime...done disabling /dev/loop0 /proc/bus/usb done /proc done /dev/pts done /tmp/ramfs done /mnt/source done you may safely reboot your system The last entry in the install log was -moving (1) to step readcomps which seems to be indicating that it is reading the component files. The last 4 lines in the system-related messages log are: <6>md: raid5 personality registered as nr 4 <6>Journalled Block Device driver loaded <6>LVM version 1.0.5+(22/07/2002) module loaded <6>parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP(,...)] This is my first experience with installing Linux. Did you use the media check to confirm that the CDs were working ok before the install?
|
Were you able to get the system up again?
