redhat 9 and grub
I lately installed the redhat 9 (shrike) on a p4 machine.
It's the unique OS. So when grub runs it offers to me 2 choices 1)linux-kernel.... with a suffix 2)linux-kernel.... What the first option stands for (by the way if i choose the 1) then the eth0 is not loaded) and do you know how to get rid of from the 1st option? Thanks in advance. |
any idea?

Does that suffix have 'smp' in it somewhere?
Its my understanding that this is for multi-processor systems. For changing boot options...look for grub.conf in /etc |
/etc/grub.conf or /boot/grub/menu.lst ?
I don't remember well the suffix now, but the important is that the eth0 is dead when boots with this option. |
