Hi all,
I had been using Redhat 7.2 (2.4.7-10) on a desktop PC with an i810 chipset till recently and never encountered any problem with the X-server.
A few days back, I shifted to an i845 chipset. The X-server worked well at installation time, but does not start when I boot off the hard-disk. I configured my X-server to use the i810 driver at installation time.
Can someone tell me what do I have to do to get the X-server started ? Please note I am most unwilling to move to some other distribution of Linux. Redhat 7.2 is the only one I like.
Interestingly, using the i810 driver works very well with FreeBSD 6.2 on the same i845 chipset.
Thanks for any help.
