RedHat 7.2 and WinXp

I am planning to install Redhat 7.2 on a pre-installed XP laptop. Can somebody give me some ideas as to what options I have to partition my hard-disk without re-installing XP?

Unfotunately, I do not have a floppy drive. But I do have a CD-RW.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is your partition info. You must have a free partition for linux.

If you don't then you will need to use something to shrink the partition. Like partition magic.

Your other option if you have the resources to do it would be backup your nt data. repartition, and restore data to the new partition on hda1.

I have a 30 GB harddisk...I am trying to avoid re-installing, since I hage some useful programs that I might not get again.

Actually I wasnt aware that PartitionMagic had added support for XP, I ll follow up on this. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you will need 7.0 for it to work on XP.

Of course there's no guarantee you won't loose data. I'm sure it warns you of that. So ultimately the best solution is to create an image, resize and restore. Or at least back it up.
