Redhat 7.0 text mode

The question you usually get is probably "How do you get from text mode to X Windows?" Well I came to ask the opposite. When I first configured Linux I wanted it to start X automatically at boot time. I would like to change it back to where I begin in text mode.
After pouring through all of the reading material I have I came across a line that said if you chose not to start with X at boot you could modify the /etc/inittab line id:3:initdefault to id:5:initdefault.
Using my logic, I would guess that if you modified id:5:initdefault to read id:3:initdefault that it would change it back to text mode.
If someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.

According to my old Red Hat 5.2 manual, that's exactly what you would do. In runlevel 5, it automatically starts x windows for you. In runlevel 3, you have to start it manually. JUst change the 5 to a 3 in your inittab file.

ok thanks. As I had stated, that logically would work....I just didn't know if that would be the logic Linux would use. LOL
