Redhat 6.2 kpackage issues
Can someone help me repair or install kpackage?
I've just installed RedHat 6.2 on my laptop. Kpackage does not appear to work. Nothing happens when I try to launch it from the desktop or the terminal as root (kpackage). I still have the install CD but I can't seem to figure out how to do the "rpm" command for the terminal (gno rpm doesn't work and the gnome desktop wouldn't install). this makes me suspect that there is a problem with the cd. It would seem to make sense to try and download the rpms to make kpackage but when i browse using netscape 4.7 it just gives me a screen of code instead of the nice pop up screen sayings "save file." |
When you're browsing for your rpms, right-click on link you'd like to download (showing code) and choose "Save Link As..." or something with similar meaning.
2 most important rpm commands: rpm -i packagename <- to install; remember to give the correct path rpm -e packagename <- to uninstall |
