Red Hat On Dl360 G5
Hello,
I want to know if is possible to install red hat 7.3 on Hp proliant DL360 G5, because when i start the installation the installing CD doesn´t recognize the hard disk. thanks |
RH 7.3 is to way to old to have out of the box support for SAS or SATA controllers.
Is there some reason like a legacy application where you are forced to use RH 7.3 or is it possible to install a more recent distribution like CentOS or Fedora? |

Even if you got all of that working, your kernel would not support all of the nifty features of a 64-bit processor, because you would be compiling your kernel with gcc v2.95. If you really need access to Red Hat 7.3 on that server, you could install a recent version of Red Hat with virtualization support and run 7.3 in a virtual machine. |
