Hi..
I'm really new in linux OS...

I was wondering if someone can help me to install my web server. I try to install apache but it didn't work...

Are you using Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Fedora?

normally, you would install new software using the package manager, which is yum.

Welcome to LQ...I'm puzzled how you got a job as Linux Administrator with no experience.

In addition to telling us the version of RedHat, you also need to tell us what the problem is. "....it didn't work." doesn't give us much to go on.

httpd start
 

If you have installed Apache and installation happened without problems, then you might want to start it (based on your message difficult to say if it is really running, or you just assume it's running).

On Fedora use
if you installed from source then the name probably is apachectl and the location is where you have installed it.
