red hat install freezez on partition check


trying to install redhat 8

after cd boot computer attempts to confiure itself but freezes on " Partition check"

Harddrive previously had xp and was a dynamic disk
computer does not have floppy disk drive so must boot from cd
erased master boot record with xp repair console but to no avail.


computer specs:-
Athlon 800, A7V , seagate 20 G

Are you comfortable running an application like fdisk?

I would suggest getting a bootable CD (I don't normally run Gentoo, but I think that Gentoo's LiveCD is the best) and try formatting your drive with fdisk from there first.

Then try installing RedHat again.
