Red Hat and Win XP
I am currently tripple booting with Windows 98SE, Windows XP Pro and Mandrake 9.0. But I'm thinking of getting rid of Mandrake in place of Redhat 8.0.
However I've heard that Redhat 8 does not coexist well with Windows Xp. Is this true, or will I be able to do this just fine? |
I have RH 8 and XP Pro dual boot and I've had no problems at all whatsoever except of course for my poor knowledge of linux ;)

You'll do just fine. Where did you hear that? I have RedHat with XP and its never given me problems. Why would it not coexist well?
|
I honestly don't know where I heard it, just something I've picked up somewhere I guess. Anyway I'm glad to hear it works, Mandrake is really getting on my nerves. Thanks.

Windows and Red Hat are so foreign to each other that they can't even read each other's filesystems. Well ... windows can't read the ext3 (linux) filesystem, but linux can read fat and ntfs (windows) ... :)
So yeah, they don't even know that each other's there so you'll be totally fine. |
Why is Mandrake getting on your nerves? And how do you think RedHat will solve that?
|
Purely because I used to use Red Hat and recently made the switch to Mandrake. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, I just prefer what I'm used to.
