Arrow red hat and large partitioned hard drives

I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to dual boot win98se and red hat 9 I have a 80 gig hard drive and it split into to 40 gig partitions. red hat says that the partition (hd2) is bigger than 20 gigs. Well Du! what is my problem here?? why will it not install?

When is it telling you this and does it allow you to create a partition larger than 20 gigs? Any error messages afterwards?

let me explain better. I installed it once with just red hat and it worked ok. I had to then reinstall win98se for my wife, and I cannot get red hat loaded onto my d: partition. it stops mid instilation because the hard drive is to big.. it has to be me so what did I do wrong?

Not sure why it wouldn't want to create a 40 gig partition and tell you its over 20 gigs.. Are you trying to create just one large partiton for / or another directory? Its usually best to create a /boot, swap and then / at a minimum. What happens if you delete that partition and then recreate it in Disk Druid during the installation?

I have been creating one large partition. I'll try to create the /boot, swap and / today and tell everyone about it tomorrow.
