Red Hat 9 Themes

Hi people, I've not long installed Linux Red Hat 9 on my machine ( 4hrs 53 mins) to be exact, and I have seen a new menu I like the look of in the theme section, but I have had a look around for themes for Red Hat 9 which currently runs gnome but can not find any. Can someone please tell me a site where i can get free themes and please tell me how to install them please. Thanks in advance....

I connect to the net, but everytime i try and surf it keeps coming up as a time out error, and disconnects me every 2 minutes :( Please help

ahuebel 02-12-2004 08:34 AM

well how do you connect? DHCP, PPPoE? Are you able to pull up any pages at all?

carlgulliver100 02-12-2004 08:50 AM

I connect using kppp, in KDE. The only page I have ever managed to bring up as been google, and thats it. I checked my resolv.conf file and thats got the 2 DNS's in as they should be. It also disconnects me every 2 minutes :(

ahuebel 02-12-2004 08:53 AM

what do pings and traceroutes tell you? Can you ping a site or IP address for more than 2 minutes? Is kppp for a PPPoE DSL connection? If so, do you connect through a router that interfaces with your dsl modem?

carlgulliver100 02-12-2004 09:02 AM

Its pppo i think. I am using standard 56k dial up. I have tried pinging google.com through the shell, but just freezes and i get nout :(

perhaps it is a driver issue with your modem. Do you have access to a broadband connection anywhere? If so, you could see if you get the same problem there.

carlgulliver100 02-12-2004 09:27 AM

Nope i dont have access to any broadband connection. I got my driver from intel.com for my 536EP modem, But i have heard a few people have had problems with that :( Anymore ideas please? :D

ahuebel 02-12-2004 09:28 AM

Sorry...I am at a loss....unless you had a different modem to try.

But if you figure anything out about the themes let me know :)

carlgulliver100 02-12-2004 09:30 AM

I have tried a different modem but i couldnt get the driver to install :( Ok i will let you know about the themes, thanks for your help. :D
