Red Hat 9 boot hang after starting services

Having a problem with Red Hat 9 when booting.

At the point that mdmonitor services are started, or trying to start, the system hangs and will not continue.

What do I do next?

Did it boot before?
Have you created a RAID?
Is one of your harddrives louder then ever before...
Try to boot in rescue mode and check the md devices
