Red Hat 5 CentOS Legal Warning Banner
 

It been along time but I don't remember how I got the GUI warning banner to pop up on my RHEL 5 Systems. I remember I edited a file and told it in the file where to find the .txt file. It was the .txt file that contained the actual verbage. Can anyone help tell me which file I first edit and then point to a predetermine .txt file?

I think the file was somthing like etc/gdm/gdm.conf?

When/where do you want it displayed?

For console logins, /etc/motd can display a message AFTER successful login via CLI/SSH

and /etc/issue can display a message PRIOR to login, via CLI/SSH


As for doing it via GDM, I have no idea, sorry.
