Recycle bin.
 
I am running Linux Lite. What happens to things like photos once they are deleted? I can't find a recycle bin anywhere.

They go to a place called trash which is similar to recycle bin in windows. I hope you have not Shift+deleted those items.

Where do I look for the Trash? There is no desktop icon for it. Do I have to go to a menu somewhere to find it?

I found the recycle bin through a menu in documents.
