Recovering Deleted Files

I have Red Hat 9, kept up to date with apt-get.

I just deleted about 80 gigs of files on accident.

I copied a folder with the same name, but different content, over it.

The stuff that got deleted was about 80 gigs, or so...

There isn't, by chance, any way for me to recover the files, is there?
(I already checked .Trash - no luck)

Have a look here:

http://recover.sourceforge.net/linux/

I would seriously think about unmounting whatever partition the data's on immediately, if at all possible, before doing anything to minimise any damage to the data.
