recording terminal input and output

I have a class where I need to record the input/output of an ssh session into a text file. The other students all run ssh in windows xp and copy and paste into notepad, but I am running an all command line system on suse, i know there is a command i can use, so what is it?
Its pretty hard to look for the man page of a command you don't know yet so dont tell me to go look in the man pages.
