recording software
 

I would like to write a simple program that can record sounds from a microphone and play it. Which language can I use? I know there are many softwares available, but I would like to write it on my own for fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Which language..." Hmmm, well, I'm not an expert regarding sound, but I am an OK programmer (I guess) and I think your best bet is maybe c or c++ but that's just from my experience. I don't think it can be done in java, but I really haven't tried anything like this. (Sounds cool though :))
