Recommended book on Posix

Hi,

Could someone please suggest a good book on Posix

I am planning to get this one.

Comer/Stevens' "Internetworking with TCP/IP" is a great book for TCP/IP sockets. "Unix Network Programming", by L. Richard Stevens, is another excellent book about sockets programming.

But I'm not sure either one is particularly helpful for "Posix", which is much more than just "sockets".

For Posix in general, any good book on "Unix" or "Linux" should give you the background you need.

The best reference, of course, is the collected Posix Standards. But they'll cost you

This site is trying to sell its product, but the posix calls are there. Most of them should be recognizable,
and easy to look up. Use your money on a good linux developer book, and stick to the procedures in
the list. Now, whether or not the linux version you're working with is 100% compliant with Posix
is another issue. It's what hurt Unix 25 years ago - and let Microsoft move to the top. Lots of luck!
