Recommendations, Please
I have a Panasonic CF-29 that I'm looking to try a Linux system on, but as I am a noob to this I need your help in choosing what the best distro would be for my system. I would like to be able to use the touch screen, I am planning on upgrading RAM once I have the funds to do it
Currently has W7 Intel pentium 1200MHz 1.20 GHz 768MB RAM 40GB SSD Any other info y'all need just ask and I'll get it if I know how to. Kinda new to more than just using computers. |
I use Ubuntu which gives me access to my stylus on the touch screen. Ubuntu is pretty much plug and play with everything. Also, every version of linux I've ever tried has a feature called live CD. With a live CD you can put the CD into your CD Rom drive and boot the computer and the Operating system will start up. This way you can try Ubuntu or many other versions of linux before you even install them. To make a live CD, just download the iso image of what ever Linux version you want and burn it to a CD.

You may have to do a bit of tweaking. A quick check at google.com/linux revealed this discussion
