Question Recommendation for Firewire PCI card

I am running Fedora Core 1. I need to add a Firewire PCI card to this box. Does anyone have experience with a card and driver that work? Card manufacturers decline to support Linux; they're no help.

I intend to attach a LaCie Big Disk.

Thanks!

You can find supported firewire cards here. Jump to compatibility hyperlink from here (left panel).

I have a Adaptec 4300 (not remember 4300 or 4300A) firewire cards with Texas Instruments chip. Works great in RH 9. Havent tried it in FC2 but it should work and yes it recognized in all my other distros.
