Recommend a good Linux Cheatsheet

Hello

New to Linux, can anyone recommend a good cheatsheet for me? I did a few google's but nothing decent came up.

Also, what does Debian based mean? I know Knoppix is Debian based but it means nothing to me, I woukd like to know about the system I am trying to learn. Another I have been told is RPM based...?

Thanks

Hong

Debian-based means it's based on the distribution debian. That means it'll use apt to install and manage packages on the system. It has a lot of similarities with debian in how it works. Rpm is another way to manage packages and it's used by other distributions.

Do you mean a cheatsheet as in a list with command line commands? Or programs you can run?

Debian is a distro, one of the first. Debian based distro are based on it and also use the Advanced Package Tool (apt) and .deb files for package management.

RPM (Redheat Package Manager) based distros are based on Red Hat and use a different form of package management with files ending in .rpm.

Both .debs and .rpms suck and anyone with any sense compiles from source to avoid dependency hell.

That's an opinion :P Apt has never had dependency hell for me. Rpms are another story though it seems. But I'll get slack sometime in the near future as well.

Thanks for the replies!!!

Yes, I meant a cheatsheet for dommand line and syntax etc, but the other sounds useful as well.

Thanks all!!

I'll check out that link in a sec.

PS are there any others apart from Debian and RPM?
